Cloud and DevOps engineer in Gdańsk. Four years of building cross-cloud automation on AWS and Azure, now moving into platform engineering on Kubernetes. Outside work: two half marathons, a first full marathon behind me, and a long-distance cycling route I am riding one summer at a time.

Professionally

I work where code meets infrastructure. Most of what I do comes down to replacing manual clicking in cloud consoles with something reviewed, repeatable and described in a repository — and then keeping it alive once it reaches production.

Experience

  1. 2022 — present

    Cloud DevOps Engineer

    Accenture

Cross-cloud data pipelines moving daily cost and inventory exports from AWS to Azure — event-driven Python Lambdas, S3 replication, cross-account IAM and KMS across four accounts. Alongside that: Terraform delivered through Azure DevOps Pipelines, hub-and-spoke networking on Azure, landing zones, and running it all under SLA in an operations model.

  2. 2019 — 2022

    Fund Inspector

    Gdańskie Nieruchomości

Public sector, property investment. Where I learned that a database nobody maintains is worse than no database at all.

  3. 2016 — 2018

    Fund Accountant

    State Street Bank

Cash portfolios and financial instruments. The years that taught me what happens when a number is wrong and someone is counting on it.

What I work with

AWS and Azure day to day — Lambda, S3, IAM, KMS, EventBridge, Athena, Entra ID. Terraform for everything that can be described as code, Python and PowerShell for everything that can be automated, Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions to ship it. Docker, Linux, and Kubernetes with Helm, ArgoCD, Prometheus and Grafana on top.

Certificates

AZ-400 Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions, AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. CKA in progress.

Building in the open

I closed my Kubernetes gap in public: a three-node cluster with GitOps delivery through ArgoCD, a Helm chart I wrote myself, ingress with automated certificates, Prometheus and Grafana, and a pipeline that publishes images to AWS without a single stored access key. The reasoning is written down as I went — github.com/ziepio/k8s-platform-lab.

Where I'm heading

Toward platform engineering built on Kubernetes. Four years of cloud infrastructure, networking and identity turn out to be a decent foundation for it — the orchestration layer is what I'm adding now, deliberately and in public.

Off the clock

Running

I started running in March 2025 and began training properly at the start of this year. Two half marathons since then — Warsaw first, then Gdynia.

Warsaw Marathon, my first 4:30:10

No wall, but an old leg injury came back at kilometre 26 and I spent the last sixteen kilometres negotiating with it. It hurt and I finished. Copenhagen will go better.

Copenhagen Marathon, next up

It is the thing I am most excited about right now. Running has done more for the rest of my life than I expected when I started, so the plan is simply to keep going.

Out on a training run

Green Velo, one section at a time

A few years ago I decided to ride the whole Green Velo trail. It is turning into a long project. In 2024 I rode from Gdańsk to Suwałki, in 2025 from Suwałki to Białystok. There is a lot of beautiful trail still ahead of me, and I intend to take it one summer at a time.

The ambitious one

In a few years: a half Ironman. Running and cycling are in decent shape. The swimming is a genuine problem, because I cannot swim at all yet. That is exactly what makes it worth doing.

Two wheels, the loud kind

I have had my first motorcycle for two years and it started something. The plan is to move to an adventure bike and use it the way it is meant to be used — riding across Europe, taking the long way round. That one is a proper dream rather than a plan, but I know what it looks like.

Someday soon

A dog. I have wanted one for a long time and I have known from the start that it will come from a local shelter — one animal, one better life. That feels like the right way round.

With a dog
Not mine. Not yet.

Get in touch

The fastest route is email, and I usually reply the same day. Everything I run and ride ends up on Strava, which is either accountability or vanity depending on the week.
